Closing Down ...

Football fixtures: play in doubt
Cinemas and schools stay out
Folklore processions can't take place
Adelaide cancels Grand Prix race.

Non-essentials such as lunch with friends,
Have been put off; it never ends
More closures mean finances dive
Will small businesses survive?

Jobs on the line in tourist trade
Most planes are empty, I'm afraid
Airlines hold tight to their 'slots'
As life, as we once knew it, rots ...

We stay indoors, get housework done
Is teaching kids at home that fun?
We're forced to take stock and reflect
Or strengthen links through Internet...

It's the elderly I pity most
With just their carers at their post
Banned family visits in this lull
Mean their days are deadly dull ...
