As Numbers Rise ...

Friends are great – they keep in touch
Their genuine concern means much
Some click on line and «wave» hello
As in these times it's good to show

Our caring, often hidden, side
For many it is a rough ride.
Weddings cannot now take place
But funerals are a special case ...

Plans to move house put on hold,
No tickets for events are sold
But neighbours rally round on line
And offer help for free – big time!

The death toll in the USA
Has risen once again today!
How tragic not all follow rules
The wise, from windows, spot such fools ...

In silent streets the birds are king
I see them swoop – they're on the wing
While ants, emboldened by the sun,
Make ready meals for more than one!

In this wider web we're caught
One third of the world is fraught;
As we face a future still unknown
More heed the message: «Stay at Home!»
