Our recorded history takes shape
Replacing cuneiform and slate;
What magic in the written word
Think Dead Sea scrolls and hearts are stirred!
Reading feeds and cheers our minds;
Understanding well-formed signs
Allows us humans to explore
The thoughts of those who've gone before.
So, on this day in Ninety-Five,
«World Book Day» truly came alive
Now round the world we celebrate
The joy of books that make life great!
