The Art of Letting Go

There's nothing like a good spring clean
De-cluttering - a whole new scene:
Old files, bank statements, tax return
Will make a great big bonfire burn!

Unloved clothes, no longer worn
Which, past their best, now look forlorn
Overwhelm my wardrobe space;
Let others give them pride of place.

Old scarves and shoes no longer thrill
Books I've not read – never will
Some objets d'art just entice dust
Time to liquidate - or bust!

Each item had a role to play
But that was long ago; today
I look them in the eye then throw ...
My 'Petits Riens' bags overflow.

I want my house to breathe again
Minimalism my new game
I hope to make another's day
With treasures that I give away!
