On Panic Buying!

Can you buy panic? I'm not sure
But we hear it happens in each store
Loo rolls, food tins by the ton
You'd think a World War had begun!

Stocks and shares dip, markets quake
Who will now a school trip make?
The Virus smirks and stalks unchecked
In smart disguise we can't detect ...

Quarantined liners lie off shores
Their cramped conditions right for spores
Hand washing now is a «must do»
But surely, this is nothing new?

Wow! Fear of the Unknown is rife
A kiss might well affect your life
For the young this can be tough
Are bows and curtseys quite enough?

There's no clause in insurance claims
To cover epidemic strains
Act of God or accident?
Who interprets what is meant?

Conclusion: we are in the throes
Of something nobody quite knows:
A weird and worrying new trend ...
So when, we ask, will it all end?
