The Buzz - in Black and White

Hashtag painted out in gold
On black tarmac, silent, bold
How fitting that this text should be
WASP*-like in Washington D.C.

#BlackLivesMatter is writ large
Three simple words - a power charge
Man's inhumanity to Man ...
Tumult sparked on every hand.

In the Declaration it is stated
Equal are all men created;
And yet, as widespead riots prove,
The U.S. seethes in ugly mood...

Not since unrest in Sixty-Eight**
Has violence so disturbed the State
Not just for George Floyd do we mourn
But for civil rights forsworn ...
