Light beyond the Tunnel!

It's the human contact that we miss,
A hug from friends, a loving kiss ...
But all of these have been taboo
Loneliness - a cancer too...

Agreed the virus must be checked
Yet looking back in retrospect
Have all these measures been extreme?
Business shivers, lean and mean...

Precautions, PPE* and masks
Have complicated daily tasks
Planes lie idle, factories close
Shopping malls have been - no-nos!

Now light outside the tunnel lies
We blink, uncertain, in sunrise
Corona darkness starts to fade
We peep out, still a tad afraid...

What lies ahead we cannot know
Pandemics threaten, come and go,
But let us take a chance – it's June
Vive encounters – at high Noon!
