Not by our Devilish* National team
It is the ending of the dream.
The Argentinians hold their ground
8 minutes in - their goal is sound
And though on both sides there’s good play
The pale blue flag wins out today.
All hopes are dashed, the big screen shows
The Argies nimble on their toes
Belgium’s bolt has now been shot
The Belgian flags begin to drop.
No celebrations in the street
Honking horns or happy feet
Instead a quiet stillness reigns
Tears in the beer as all hope wanes.
