No crowds in Parks to wile away
This barmy summer with their friends
No military parade – new trends...
But some traditions stay the course:
Te Deum and the King's discourse
No flypast: yellow, black and red;
All else is seen on line instead.
Yet windows sport the national flag
Which cheers the masses who are sad
As the Nation counts the cost;
So many lives to COVID lost ...
Les Belges now celebrate at home
Or chat on Skype or mobile phone
While supermarkets do good trade
With beer and wine sales quickly made!
