The self-interest, “me culture” stays
Top of the list – injustice rules
Anger heats up, kindness cools...
More bomb attacks, more senseless dead
Those with no hope left, quickly spread
Destruction, horror and despair
The consumer world just does not care...
Where are those values once revered?
Dark clouds have gathered, lives are seared
We've lost our way, our hearts are cold
Compassion can't compete with gold...
Each “Breaking News” tells of more pain
Staying positive is now a strain
Though holidays are in full swing
For some life has a hollow ring …
