It’s the uncertainty that hurts
Concerns on climate, wildfire* spurts
As livelihoods go up in smoke …
Our abnormal lives - remote.
The thing is, we cannot escape
Perhaps Man’s actions just tempt Fate?
Will the Gulf Stream change its course
As melting icebergs show their force?
I am no harbinger of doom
But is clear new dangers loom
So, Man must get his act together
Curtail perhaps our flights for pleasure?
No one Nation holds the key
But there are rocks ahead, I see;
As more celebrities depart
So many memories grow dark …
We squander energy and food
We’re selfish – but we must collude
‘Strength in
unity’** seems trite
But Belgium’s motto gets it right!
