Advice on Advice!

We pass advice onto our friends

On fashion or behaviour trends;

We recommend fads we’ve not tried

And promote much else, beside.

 

But is this altruism, folks?

So often advertising cloaks

Side-effects or get-rich ploys

Buried in the small print, guys!

 

So, I reflect that “in-your-face”

May jostle to have pride off place

But as you shop in store/on line

It is good to pause, take time

 

To check the labels advertising

"Wonder" products so surprising;

It pays to shop around and read

Don’t pander to promoters’ greed.

 

I question influencers’ role;

Grey area or deep black hole?

Each day life offers much to test

But trust your judgement – it’s the best!
