Byte-sized

As you scroll down on the Internet
In search of some elusive fact
Temptation in your way will step
Lurid headlines try to trap

Your interest, or maybe a quiz
Annoying adverts catch your eye
«Pop-ups» put you in a tizz
Your concentration blown sky-high!

Hail to the short attention span!
Modern children find it tough
To read a book through but they can
Surf until they've had enough.

In gentler times, not long ago
Letter writing was an art
Newspapers kept you «in the know»
And TV played a major part.

Now knowledge comes in tidy bytes
Pre-packaged with a point of view
An avalanche of smart «insights»
But I think for myself, don't you?
