Alice in Referendum-Land

Are we living in a Wonderland*?
Britain's poised in No Man's land
White Rabbit bolts down a deep hole
Does Alice really know her role?

One “drink me” medicine makes her grow
The ceiling soon becomes too low
While a second bottle makes her shrink
She hesitates, which should she drink?

The Magic toadstool blocks her way
The Red Queen forces her to play
She runs fast, staying on the spot
While Carpenter and Walrus mock...

Feeling trapped, she must decide
But will she choose the winning side?
The croquet game goes all awry
The Hack of Cards makes voters sigh!

Should she keep the status quo?
Where weird creatures come and go
Or take a step back and pretend
That the Dream is at an end?

  1. Absolutely brilliant. I've just read it after the Brexit decision... the dream is at an end.
